Run free and unwind across more than 750 acres of parks and open space in Elyson. Our miles of trails are planned to connect our wild green expanses, social spaces, and distinctive neighborhoods. Additionally, Elyson has plans for a master trail system throughout the community.
Also close to the community, make sure to check out Mary Jo Peckham Park, a 32-acre park designed to provide enjoyment for children and families, as well as older people and those with disabilities. Amenities and Activities include: a large playground, a miniature golf course, picnic pavilion, gazebo, well-stocked fishing lake where you can feed the ducks, a lighted walking trail, public restrooms (both in the community center which houses an exercise room and indoor pool and outside along the walking trail), several picnic tables, grills, and a tropical fish pond.
Paul Rushing Park, a 232-acre park has been described as "a gem in the Katy Prairie" and is about 5 miles from the community. Amenities and Activities include: the chain-of-lakes wildlife habitat, bird watching, dog park, cricket and softball fields, tree farm, lake boardwalk, playground, picnic and gazebo, walking trail and restrooms.
Natural open space is another important feature of the master plan for Elyson, where more than 750 acres are being preserved for parks, trails, waterways, and recreational amenities.
