New Brookfield model homes at Elyson filled with creative design ideas

Elyson is the first community in Houston where you can tour new model homes from Brookfield Residential, the homebuilding division of the fifth largest real estate development company in North America.

Brookfield has opened two model homes in Elyson, showcasing 14 plans priced from the high $300KS to low $500Ks in their Traditional Homes Collection.

The Rutgers and Norwich models show the open, light-filled interiors and inviting outdoor living spaces that make Brookfield a standout, along with leading edge technologies and flexible floor plans that can be customized in many different ways.

One of the things that make these models so fun and inspiring to visit are the many design ideas noted throughout on cleverly placed wall signs. The signs include QR codes offering handy tips on how visitors can achieve these looks for themselves.

Let’s take a quick tour through the models, stopping to note some of the most interesting design inspirations.

Rutgers

An eclectic international décor with bright colors and bold textures highlights the two-story Rutgers model.

A series of large windows floods the foyer with natural light, and the dark blue painted window trim offers a nice contrast to the primary white color.  Titled “Bold Move,” a sign informs that the contrasting framing color surrounding the windows is part of the Brookfield design package.

Accent colors are a design theme throughout this model. “Painting trim and windows is a visually stunning way to add color to a room without painting the walls,” another sign suggests.

Opposite the foyer is a home office with a sign that asks, “Work from home?” It notes that the wallpaper, floating shelves and wood accents are custom details from the designers, and offers ideas on how to get the look once you move in.

The kitchen serves up a number of creative design details, including wood-look tile floors in a herringbone pattern, and painted cabinetry that matches the window trim.

Our favorite feature is a built-in coffee bar in the breakfast area, complete with glass-front cabinets. The spacious covered patio and open terrace offer enticing areas to enjoy your morning coffee outside.

“Moody Blues” is the theme of the luxurious primary suite, and a sign offers ideas on how to get the look once you move in.

The primary suite’s walk-in closet opens to the large utility room, creating a convenient “laundry loop.” The laundry area leads to a convenient and creatively decorated family foyer opening from the garage, complete with a built-in backpack rack and bench with plenty of storage.

Upstairs, the Rutgers displays three more bedrooms with fun accent walls, bold contrasting trim and other creative details. As always, the signs are helpful tour guides, with QR codes offering quick links for inspiration and tips to help you achieve these inspired looks.

Norwich

The Norwich includes the Brookfield sales center, complete with professional sales consultants and informative displays on the builder and Elyson.

Upon entering the foyer, you immediately encounter a sign on a door next to the stairway, titled, “Psst…Enter Narnia.”

“Peek behind this door to find the perfect hidden play space wonderland – or room for all your winter coats,” it reads. The door opens to reveal a fun mini kid’s retreat tucked away under the stairs. Whether you use this area for play or storage, it’s a clever and efficient use of space.

Just past the staircase is a study with bold wallpaper. A sign asks, “Adore our wallpaper? Installing custom wallpaper is a great way to add drama. While it isn’t part of our sales package, it’s easy to get the look once you move in.”

“Beam me up,” reads a sign in the family room, explaining that the designers added the ceiling beam for greater visual interest and character in this large open space.

“Fortlandia” is the theme of the upstairs play area right off the stairway landing. A hideaway play area is tucked under a raised day bed, which is reached by a short ladder. There are two built-in desks and some fun displays of books and children’s art.

“Our designers added this sweet fort, but you can find similar inspiration here,” the sign reads.

The upstairs media room has textured wall paneling that adds visual interest as well as acoustics. This room is spacious enough to easily accommodate a C-shaped sectional sofa and other furniture.

The kids’ bedrooms have fun themes such as geography and adventure. A sign in one offers info on adding such whimsical and colorful detail, such as a forest suggested by thin vertical green boards.

Brookfield’s new model homes are among 20 fully furnished model homes you can tour at Elyson. Most are located in our Model Home Village, while a few others (including Brookfield’s) are a short drive away. The best place to begin your visit to Elyson is at our Welcome Center, also in the Model Home Village, where you can pick up a map and visit with our knowledgeable community representatives.
