Cy-Fair ISD, serving part of Elyson, is No. 2 ranked school district in Harris County
Most of the 6,000 new homes planned for Elyson are located in Katy ISD, but our neighborhoods located east of Peek Road are part of Cy-Fair ISD, another highly regarded school district.
Cy-Fair ISD is the No. 2 Best School District in Harris County in the 2026 rankings from Niche, a national organization that reviews and ranks K-12 schools and districts across the country, using parent and student reviews, essential statistics and data from the U.S. Department of Education.
Cy-Fair has an overall A grade from Niche, with more A grades for Teachers and College Prep. It has A+ grades for Diversity and Sports, and A- scores for Academics and Clubs & Activities.

A district of opportunity
Cy-Fair ISD offers students an impressive array of opportunities, including the ability to earn an associate’s degree by the time they graduate high school, as part of its unique partnership with Lone Star College – CyFair.
The district’s career and technical education (CTE) program offers more than 130 courses and invaluable real-life experience, leading to nearly 70 available industry certifications.
In the arts, Cy-Fair ISD is a TxETA Exemplary District of Distinction, the highest designation awarded to districts making outstanding contributions to theater education. It was also named one of the 2025 Best Communities for Music Education.
At the campus level
All of the Pre-K through 12 Cy-Fair ISD campuses currently zoned to Elyson are rated above average by Niche.
At Walker Elementary, students dive into art, music and PE, and those who qualify can take on extra challenges through the HORIZONS Gifted & Talented program. Walker is known as a warm, welcoming school where community comes first and every kid can find their groove.
One of Cy-Fair ISD’s newer campuses, Rowe Middle School is designed for students who are ready to explore, offering advanced K-level courses in core subjects, and electives like art, band and theater. Extracurricular activities include after-school clubs, playing on the Rowe Jaguars sports teams, or hanging out together in one of the school’s many unique gathering spaces. This school also offers the HORIZONS Gifted & Talented program.
Cypress Park High School ranks among the top 10 percent Niche Standout High Schools in Texas, thanks to enriching opportunities such as Advanced Placement courses, creative programs such as animation, and the HORIZONS Gifted & Talented program. It offers a variety of clubs and organizations to foster community and leadership skills, along with a strong athletics program and a commitment to student growth.
Harmony School of Excellence – Katy
All students living in Elyson are eligible to attend Harmony School of Excellence – Katy, a high-performing, STEM-focused charter school located in the community.
Harmony recently opened its high school and middle school building in Elyson, so they now offer complete K-12 education at their 26-acre Elyson campus, located along Peek Road.
