Westin’s grand foyers reach their greatest height in the Carter IX model home in Elyson
Westin Homes, a homegrown Houston builder, has a well-earned reputation for creating homes with breathtaking rotunda foyers that make an unforgettable first impression, setting the stage for architectural drama that continues through the main floor and upstairs.

One of 14 model homes showcased in Elyson’s newest Model Home Village, the Carter IX showcases Westin’s design collection for 60-foot homesites, at prices from the low $600Ks.
Forming a perfect circle, the Carter IX’s spiral staircase is set in a rotunda that soars up to the second-floor ceiling. The contemporary chandelier is set in multiple recesses, reminding us of a beautifully tiered wedding cake in reverse. Light wood rails and treads, along with iron spindles, combine with white trim and walls to create a soft, airy palette.
The main foyer is set back from the front door, creating a grand sense of arrival and anticipation as you walk through the initial two-story foyer. With its location in the middle of the floor plan, the foyer becomes a visual focus for the two-story family room, and also for the overlooking media room and gameroom above.
This foyer is the grandest highlight of the five-bedroom Carter IX plan, and there’s much more to love. Here are just a few more noteworthy features that make this gorgeous model worth a visit.
- Home office – Just feet from the front door, French doors open to the private study, where a soaring ceiling echoes the drama of the foyer. Removed from the living areas, the location is quiet and productive, with views to the front yard and foyer offering glimpses of inspiration.
- Flooded with light – A set of floor-to-ceiling bow-bay windows fills the spacious family room with natural light. The modern horizontal fireplace and adjacent lighted shelving offer a minimal focal point for the main wall.
- Island paradise – Covered with sleek white marble from floor to top, the oversized table island combines seating/serving space and ample work areas.
