A wine lover’s dream home – Highland’s Plan 540 model in Elyson

A wine storage room with sliding barn doors and a wine bar in the family room are just two of the features that make Highland’s new Plan 540 model home in Elyson perfect for entertaining. Open indoor and outdoor living areas add to the social appeal of this one-story plan.
Showcasing Highland plans priced from the $400Ks in Elyson, this model home offers eight structural options that invite families to customize it for the way they live, including adding a “Flex Gen” living suite and a second floor with a gameroom.
An extended foyer with double front doors welcomes you to this beautiful model, filled with bold textures, colors and wall treatments.
Right off the foyer, the wine room includes a wall of diagonal bin racks, with additional cabinet and countertop space, a bar sink and wine refrigerator.
A second wine-friendly feature is located in the open family room and kitchen area. Complete with counter space and upper and lower cabinets, this built-in also makes a convenient butler’s pantry.
The fireplace is one of our favorite design features, with a floor-to-ceiling wall of brick with bold horizontal patterning, painted in a dark brown color.
While many homes locate the study near the front door, Plan 540 offers a different approach, with the home office at the rear of the home. A wall of built-in bookshelves lends style and storage to this private workspace, enclosed by single-pane French doors and offering a view of the backyard.
The open kitchen enhances this plan’s entertaining potential, with a large table island providing seating for four. An arched niche above the cooktop creates a stylish focal point for the kitchen. Additional creative touches include glass-front cabinets and subway tile set at a diagonal.
This model showcases more built-in options that add function and convenience, including the window seat in the dining area, and the mud bench at the garage entry.
The primary suite includes a luxurious spa bath with a soaking tub and oversized walk-in shower. Double vanities and a make-up desk fill one wall of this spacious bath. The walk-in closet opens to the large utility room, creating a convenient laundry loop.
This model is displayed as a four-bedroom home, with a more secluded bedroom near the garage including a full en suite bathroom.
Two more bedrooms near the foyer share a “Jack and Jill” bath, with the option of creating a full bath for each. These two bedrooms can also be combined to create an optional Flex Gen living suite.
Plan 540 also offers an optional second floor that can be built with a gameroom and powder room alone, or with a gameroom and a fifth bedroom with a full bath.
