Beazer introduces low-maintenance Duets, with prices from the mid $200s
Elyson has an exciting new choice for low maintenance living priced from the mid $200,000s.
Beazer is introducing its Duets series of homes in a new Elyson neighborhood where many homesites offer views of trails and natural open space.
Front and back yards will be maintained by a neighborhood homeowner’s association, for a carefree low-maintenance lifestyle. The Farmhouse and Craftsman style exteriors will also be maintained by the HOA for ease of care, and to maintain well-kept and cohesive curb appeal throughout the neighborhood.
Final pricing has not yet been announced, but Beazer has stated that prices will start from the mid $200,000s. Eight one- and two-story plans will be offered, ranging from 1,579 to 2,103 square feet.

Two fully furnished model homes, the Grand Rouge and the Messina, are planned to open later this fall. Beazer is also starting construction on available Duets homes that will be ready for early 2021 move-in.
Two model homes
The Grand Rouge plan has most of its living space on the main level, which has an open concept layout. The great room, for example, measures 19 feet by 17 feet, and is open to the casual dining area and island kitchen. The second floor has an open loft, third bedroom and third bathroom.
Like all Duets plans, the Grand Rouge includes a two-car garage, with a combined mud room and laundry area creating a convenient everyday entrance. The main foyer soars to a two-story ceiling height for an impressive entrance.
Duets plans offer a number of options for customizing. Some options are no-cost, such as choosing alternate kitchen and primary bathroom layouts. A few options cost a little extra, like adding a great room or six-foot covered patio extension. Study and gameroom options are available on select plans.
A second model home, the Messina, is another two-story plan with most of its living space on the main floor. Upstairs, has a loft, third bedroom and full bath.
Scaling down and starting out
Combining low maintenance and affordability, the Duets appeal to a diverse cross section of homebuyers, says Randy Wallace, general sales manager for Beazer in Houston.
“So far, a little more than half of our Duets buyers in the Houston area have been empty nesters and others wanting to scale down and simplify with a low-maintenance home. These homes offer a convenient ‘lock and leave’ lifestyle for homeowners who love to travel a lot,” he says.
First-time homebuyers make up the other half.
“For these buyers, the Duets offer a great opportunity to own a new home at an attainable price, in a true master-planned community such as Elyson,” Wallace says. “With today’s historically low interest rates, there has never been a better time for first-time homebuyers to stop renting and start owning. The maintenance-free aspect of the Duets offers a unique opportunity to buyers who are new to the experience of owning their own home.”
Views all around
The Duets offer an appealing location within Elyson, a 3,642-acre community with a vision for more than 750 acres of recreational amenities, parks, trails and natural open spaces.
“This neighborhood is only footsteps away from the community trail system, which will ultimately extend for almost 30 miles,” said Heather Gustafson, Elyson’s marketing director. “Many homesites offer views of the trails and other natural open space surrounding the neighborhood.”
Elyson is located in the highly regarded Katy Independent School District, which recently opened the community’s first onsite school, Peter McElwain Elementary.
