GHBA Benefit Home coming to Elyson

Of all the great homes that will be built in Elyson in 2017, one will be just a little bit more special. It’s the 2017 Greater Houston Builders Association Benefit Home, which will break ground later this month on a homesite donated by Newland, the developer of Elyson.

The GHBA Benefit Home will be built by Chesmar and will feature its popular Poplar plan, which is showcased as a fully furnished model home in Elyson. Priced from the low $300,000s, this terrific two-story plan has four bedrooms, three baths, an open family room with views of the covered patio, and a big upstairs gameroom.

The GHBA Benefit Home will be sold at market value, with the majority of proceeds benefitting two very worthy charities, HomeAid Houston and Operation Finally Home.

The contribution to these charities is possible because Newland, Chesmar and many other GHBA members are donating property, materials, labor and services to the Benefit Home.

One of the most successful charitable programs in Houston, the GHBA Benefit Home project started 37 years ago and has raised more than $10 million for charities since that time.

HomeAid Houston is a GHBA-sponsored charity that identifies long-term, stable homeless care providers and pairs them with GHBA members who donate their time, materials and labor to help build transitional homeless shelters.

Operation Finally Home provides custom-built, mortgage-free homes to U.S. military heroes and their widows and families.
