Of all the great homes that will be built in Elyson in 2017, one will be just a little bit more special. It’s the 2017 Greater Houston Builders Association Benefit Home, which will break ground later this month on a homesite donated by Newland, the developer of Elyson.
Beth and Scott Henderson, one of the Founding Families of Elyson, became excited about the idea of living in Elyson right after the community was first announced in the local media in 2014.
When Elyson is completed, this 3,642-acre community in the Katy Independent School District will ultimately be home to about 6,000 families, and the Dural family will always have the distinction of being one of the community’s first Founding Families.
Elyson is the newest community in the Katy Independent School District, but it has deep family roots that go back more than a quarter-century in KISD and the greater Houston area.
Last fall, Newland Communities invited its employees and others involved in the development of Elyson to celebrate the official groundbreaking ceremony for this new Katy ISD community. Fast-forward to spring, and work is well underway for Elyson to be ready for its Fall 2016 grand opening.
